« Le Tancrède vénitien de Marilyn Horne, capté sur le vif en 1983, est d'abord un peu instable, en retrait par rapport aux live des années 1970 [...]. Mais on retrouve progressivement, malgré un timbre moins brillant, la soudure des registres, l'opulence du grave, la confondante maîtrise du souffle, qui permet de galber dans un cantabile volupteux les longues phrases du canto spianato. À partir du deuxième acte, la grande Horne est là, sublime à la fin [...] On pourra toujours dire qu'Ernesto Palacio n'est pas assez baryténor, alors qu'on en trouve maintenant : il montrait, avec quelques autres, ce qu'est un ténor rossinien, agile et stylé. Le solide Ralf Weikert n'est certes pas un Alberto Zedda, mais il croit à cette musique, ne l'épaissit pas et ne fait pas languir la succession des numéros du seria. Alors, malgré Zedda, justement, avec Ewa Podles et Sumi Jo, on thésaurise ce Tancrède. La grande Marilyn, à elle seule, vaut de l'or.» (Diapason, janvier 2018 / Didier Van Moere)

« Le Tancrède vénitien de Marilyn Horne, capté sur le vif en 1983, est d'abord un peu instable, en retrait par rapport aux live des années 1970 [...]. Mais on retrouve progressivement, malgré un timbre moins brillant, la soudure des registres, l'opulence du grave, la confondante maîtrise du souffle, qui permet de galber dans un cantabile volupteux les longues phrases du canto spianato. À partir du deuxième acte, la grande Horne est là, sublime à la fin [...] On pourra toujours dire qu'Ernesto Palacio n'est pas assez baryténor, alors qu'on en trouve maintenant : il montrait, avec quelques autres, ce qu'est un ténor rossinien, agile et stylé. Le solide Ralf Weikert n'est certes pas un Alberto Zedda, mais il croit à cette musique, ne l'épaissit pas et ne fait pas languir la succession des numéros du seria. Alors, malgré Zedda, justement, avec Ewa Podles et Sumi Jo, on thésaurise ce Tancrède. La grande Marilyn, à elle seule, vaut de l'or.» (Diapason, janvier 2018 / Didier Van Moere)
