Alberto Parmegiani

Born in 1968, Alberto Parmegiani is an Italian jazz guitarist based in Rome. Initially, he studied at Niccolò Piccinni Conservatory in Monopoli. He relocated to New York, where he graduated from the Mannes College of Music/The New School. Some of his classmates were brothers Larry and Phil Grenadier, Jeff Ballard and many others. Parmegiani began composing for small groups, focusing on trios, quartet and quintets. He moved back to Italy and began a collaboration with pianist Claudio Filippini and bassist Daniele Cappucci. He also collaborated with other musicians appearing on albums by Temp 5, De-Phaz + Nicola Conte, and Anna Albanese. In 2006, he released the album Blues for a Leaving Man with the Alberto Parmegiani Group. The Crossing – recorded with The Crossing Quintet – was released in 2012. Three years later, Parmegiani and his quintet released the album Under a Shimmery Grace, followed by his solo release, On My Radio, in 2018.
