Dans le sillon de son entrée en studio avec le producteur Bob Rock (Metallica, The Cult) en 2013 pour donner suite à son Days Go By de 2012, la formation pop punk californienne The Offspring allait connaître une période pour le moins difficile, se séparant en mauvais terme de son label Columbia et ne donnant finalement plus guère de nouvelles qu'avec un trio de singles éparpillés entre 2015 et 2020. En 2021, c'est donc au terme du plus long intervalle de sa carrière discographique que le groupe revient avec Let the Bad Times Roll, dixième opus dénué de stigmates et continuant de creuser un sillon familier, ne laissant entrevoir le passage du temps qu'à travers ses paroles et reflétant une volonté d'embrasser l'air du temps sans se départir de son identité.
