Quatrième album du collectif la Mafia K’1 Fry, Jusqu’à la mort ressemble un peu à la version hip-hop de La Place des grands hommes de Bruel. « On s’était dit rendez-vous dans douze ans, même jour, même heure, mêmes pommes. ». Car ils sont (presque) tous venus, ils sont (presque) tous là : 113, Mokobé, Rim’K, Kery James, Ideal J, Rohff, O.G.B... tous venus célébrer cette réunion dix ans après le premier album de l’association.
Si l’album reste empreint d’une certaine nostalgie sur le thème « on a vieilli », le punch est cependant toujours là et se décline au rythme de « Val 2 meurtre », « On n’a pas fini », « Mama » ou « Thug life ». Empreint de solennité, le collectif n’en oublie pas moins son humour sur quelques titres plus récréatifs comme « K’1 Fry Club ».
Si certains pensent que Jusqu’à la mort est une forme de testament d’un groupe, il n’empêche qu’il est rudement bien rédigé.
