As Jon Spencer is to the blues, so Danko Jones is to soul: loud, fast, and not just a little bit sleazy. Over the course of the five-song EP, it doesn't let up, but the bad news is that the whole thing clocks in at just over ten minutes. It's the perfect length to prevent you from getting sick of it all by the end (like you might at the end of a Blues Explosion album, but it still feels a bit like a pocketbook heist. Still, soul has never had so much punk, and punk has never had so much soul.
