Back Home was recorded during a brief two-week trip to Puerto Rico. The sound is similar to the live Palladium recordings, although Back Home emphasizes Tito's singing. In fact, his voice really leaps off the record with incredible presence. Modesto Duran's "Ven Conmigoa Bailar" is a great cha cha cha, and "Chevere," "Cuando, Cuando," and "Payaso" also are among the many uptempo grabbers. An original, "Untate en Mi," provides an indication of Tito's mature ballad style and such albums as From Tito With Love to come. "Se te Acabo el Jamon" also was cowritten by the singer.
