“The division bell” e’ il quattordicesimo album in studio di una delle piu’ influenti e celebri rock band del pianeta, il gruppo britannico dei Pink Floyd. Esce nel marzo del 1994, prodotto da David Gilmour (Roger Waters era uscito polemicamente dal gruppo subito dopo “The final cut”) e Bob Ezrin (che aveva collaborato a “The wall” , produttore anche di celebri band come Kiss, Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, fino agli odierni Phish e 30 Seconds to Mars), ed e’ anche l’ultimo della band prima di un lungo digiuno che verra’ interrotto in autunno con la pubblicazione dell’inedito “The endless river”. “The division bell” ottenne recensioni piuttosto negative dalle riviste specializzate, ma questo non gli impedi’ di raggiungere la vetta delle classifiche di mezzo mondo e vendere milioni di copie. Tra i brani, si ricordano i singoli “Take it back” e “High hopes / keep talking”, mentre tra gli ospiti illustri si segnalano il bassista Guy Pratt (che li accompagnera’ anche durante la tournee), Michael Kamen, il chitarrista Tim Renwick.
