Teenage Guitar

Another one of the dozens of side projects by the inexhaustible Robert Pollard of Guided by Voices, Teenage Guitar is a creative outlet for Pollard to record vocals, guitar, and piano on four-track with spare overdubbing by bassist Joe Patterson and drummer Greg Demos. (In a May 2014 interview, Pollard described Teenage Guitar as "a solo project thing ... where I [clumsily] play every instrument.") Sounding closer to the lo-fi mid-'90s tapes by GBV than the experimental mind set of his other solo projects such as Circus Devils, Night Walker, and the material released under his actual name, Teenage Guitar's debut album, Force Fields at Home, was released in 2013, on Pollard's indie label, Guided by Voices, Inc. A second album from Teenage Guitar, More Lies from the Gooseberry Bush, was issued by Fire Records in September 2014.
