SW/MM/NG
SW/MM/NG began developing their hazy, summertime guitar pop in the college town of Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2011. Originally called Swimming, they switched to their current, more iconographic moniker after the arrival of a cease-and-desist order from a U.K. group of the same name. The fivesome cite classic alt/indie acts like Galaxie 500 and the Jesus and Mary Chain as influences that can be heard in their texturally fuzzy brand of dream pop. After making their name regionally, they came to the attention of Brooklyn's Old Flame Records, which signed them after label leadership saw the band play a set at Austin's SXSW. Their 2014 debut, Feel Not Bad, was preceded by a series of singles in the year leading up to their album's release.
