PJ Harding

Australian singer, songwriter, and producer PJ Harding is known for his thoughtful sound, straddling country and contemporary indie pop. Harding had already made a name for himself under the guise THIEF before teaming up with Noah Cyrus on their collaborative debut EP, 2021's People Don't Change. Harding kick-started his music career as THIEF in 2014 with the release of his debut single, "Closer," earning praise across worldwide radio as he played festivals like SXSW and The Great Escape. After a handful of releases, he moved away from the spotlight in 2016 to focus on his songwriting. Building up an impressive array of work for the likes of Chromeo, Ruel, and M-Phazes, Harding continued to work behind the scenes until a chance meeting with Noah Cyrus at a songwriting camp in Bali in 2018. Originally playing guitar on Cyrus' 2018 track "Good Work," he teamed up with her again in 2019, co-writing four songs that appeared on her 2020 EP The End of Everything. With the COVID-19 pandemic locking down countries across the world, Harding -- who had moved to L.A. to continue writing with Cyrus -- returned to Australia with his family. Using the Internet to collaborate, the duo continued to write and record, delivering their debut EP, the country-channeling People Don't Change, at the beginning of 2021.
