Nita Strauss

Nita Strauss is a versatile and virtuosic American guitar player who has succeeded both as an in-demand touring guitarist and as a solo artist. She issued her debut album, Controlled Chaos, in 2018, followed by The Call of the Void in 2023. The latter effort spawned the chart-topping mainstream rock hit "Dead Inside." Born Vinita Sandhya Strauss -- her father's side of the family claims beloved Austrian composer Johann Strauss as an ancestor -- she first caught the metal scene's attention playing in the all-female Iron Maiden tribute band the Iron Maidens and the popular West Coast hard rock/glam metal outfit Femme Fatale. A frequent collaborator and stage and session musician, the Los Angeles native replaced outgoing Alice Cooper guitarist Orianthi in 2014, and in 2018, she started appearing on WWE shows, including Wrestlemania 34. 2018 also saw Strauss ink a deal with Sumerian Records and issue her debut instrumental solo LP, Controlled Chaos. In 2022, Strauss became the first female artist since 1990 to top the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. The single "Dead Inside," which featured Disturbed's David Draiman, appeared on her star-studded 2023 LP, The Call of the Void, which also included guest spots from Lzzy Hale, Alice Cooper, Alissa White-Gulz, and Megadeth's Marty Friedman, among others.
