Mark Searcy

A versatile blues, rock, and jazz guitarist, Mark Searcy took up the instrument in his early teens but didn't actively pursue his musical dreams until much later in life. After a 15-year hiatus spent raising a family, he suffered a workplace accident that damaged several of his fingers. He returned to the guitar as a form of rehabilitation, releasing his debut album, Like Father, Like Son, in 2005. Since then, the Arkansas-bred/Texas-based artist has issued a slew of wide-ranging efforts like Bullseye (2010), Hazepipe (2013), St. Mary's Street (2015), and Arkansas Boy (2021) that deftly incorporate elements of pre-war blues, Delta blues, folk, jazz, country, and rock & roll. Searcy has been nominated for multiple awards during his career -- he took home the Musician of the Year" trophy at the 2014 Texas Music Awards -- and has published several books of guitar tablature and music transcription. In addition to his solo work, Searcy has collaborated with Texas Delta Kings and contributed to albums by Ginger Pickett, Doug Sahm, and Augie Meyers.
