Lump

Lump is a British supergroup featuring indie-folk singer Laura Marling and producer Mike Lindsay. Prior to forming the duo in June 2016, Marling released a string of popular Americana albums as a solo artist, cracking the Top 10 in her homeland with records like 2010's I Speak Because I Can and 2013's Once I Was an Eagle. Meanwhile, Lindsay co-founded the folktronica band Tunng, serving as both bandmate and producer on albums like 2006's Comments of the Inner Chorus. Interested in working together after initially crossing paths at a Neil Young concert, the two musicians combined forces on 2018's self-titled Lump, combining organic textures and digital elements into a critically-acclaimed debut album. Three years later, the duo returned with a second collaborative record, Animal. Accompanied by the singles "Climb Every Wall," "We Cannot Resist," and "Gamma Ray," the album earned another round of critical accolades, while also charting at Number 22 in Scotland and Number 65 in the UK.
