Lil Xxel
Rapper and social media personality Lil Xxel expresses heartache and loneliness through his bright, energetic songs, which blend rap, pop, R&B, and dance music. His breakout hit, 2020's "LMK," is a summery dance-pop tune anchored by an insistent chorus of "I miss you."
Alex Perez was born in Orlando, Florida, to parents of Cuban and Puerto Rican descent. His family moved to New Jersey when he was young, and he started rapping and singing in talent shows when he was a student. He began writing songs and posting them on his social media accounts, amassing tens of thousands of followers by the beginning of 2020. "Monopoly," his collaboration with DJ Diddy, made an impact when it was released in early January, but Xxel's solo single "LMK" took off when it appeared a few months later. The track was officially released by 300 Entertainment in May, and soon racked up millions of streams.
