Jamie Murphy

Jamie O'Neal is a female country singer who was born in Sydney, Australia in 1966. She is the daughter of country singers Jimmy and Julie Murphy and she sang in The Murphy Family group until her parents divorced in the 1970s.

During the early stages of her professional career O'Neal was a backing singer for Australian superstar Kylie Minogue and featured on two of Minogue's tours until landing a solo recording contract with Mercury Nashville in 2000. Her debut album 'Shiver' was released later that year and spawned two number one singles - 'There is No Arizona' and 'When I think About Angels'. The album also performed well in the charts and eventually peaked at number 14 in Billboard's Top Country Albums listing. It was to be another four years before O'Neal released the follow-up album titled 'Brave' in early 2005. 'Brave' enjoyed similar chart success to her previous album, spawning a series of hit singles and reaching number six in the album charts.

To date, O'Neal has only released one further album, a compilation of covers titled 'Eternal' in 2014.
