INIKO's sleek, reflective songs combine elements of alt-pop, smooth R&B, and ruminative rap. After a slow and steady climb in popularity with a series of singles beginning in the late 2010s, the empowering "Jericho" landed in the Top 40 of Billboard's Hot Digital Songs chart in 2023. Born in New York, INIKO grew up with a love of music and started playing piano and guitar at an early age. They spent some time abroad, including a year in Japan, and launched their songwriting career from Los Angeles in the late 2010s. 2019's "Pinocchio," 2020's two-track "Both of Them" single ("Motion" paired with "Caught in a Body"), and the next year's "Luna" all found INIKO gradually expanding their fan base, and by the end of 2021, they had garnered millions of streams across songs and platforms. The year 2022 brought the release of INIKO tracks such "Hourglass" and a tribute to their father called "The King's Affirmation" that amassed tens of millions of streams on its own. By early 2023, they had over two million followers on TikTok alone, were selling out club dates on the U.S. coasts, and had a legitimate viral hit with "Jericho," which cracked the Billboard Hot Digital Songs Top 40.
