Harry Hudson

American singer-songwriter Harry Hudson combines infectious and warm pop vocal melodies with swaggering R&B beats. A close affiliate of Jaden Smith's MSFTS collective/lifestyle brand, Hudson has collaborated with Smith as well as Astrid S on releases such as 2020's Hey, I'm Here for You. Hudson was born in New Jersey in 1993 and moved to Los Angeles with his family when he was four years old. He developed a taste for various types of pop music throughout his teens, including the work of Al Green, Michael Jackson, and Bruce Springsteen, and eventually decided to pursue songwriting himself. The singer released his first single, "World Is Gone," online in 2013. During June of that year, however, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma and set his career aside to undergo treatment. After six months of chemotherapy, he overcame the illness in January 2014. He spent 2015 rediscovering his inspirations and got to work writing his full-length debut; he independently released two EPs, Treatment (A-Side) and Gemineyes the same year. The former featured songs he had written during chemotherapy, with lyrics primarily focused on his experience, while the latter was co-written with close friend and collaborator gnash. Hudson then relocated to New York, developing an interest in film. He soon made his own short film, Can Cowboys Cry, co-starring Jaden Smith, and its 2017 soundtrack included Hudson's own songs like "Cry for Love" and "Yellow Lights." In March of 2018, he released his debut album, Yesterday's Tomorrow Night, via the MSFTS/Roc Nation label. Hudson returned later that year with the Jaden Smith collaboration "Just Slide," with the groove-heavy "Pendulum" arriving in 2019. The following year marked the arrival of Hey, I'm Here for You, which included the Astrid S collaboration "Closing Doors."
