Domingo Edjang

El Chojin is a Spanish rapper and songwriter. He adopted the stage name after a character from the Japanese animation film series Urotsukidōji. El Chojin was born Domingo Antonio Adjang Moreno in Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid, on April 28, 1977. He got his start as an MC collaborating with other artists such as Frank T and El Meswy. In 1999, he released his debut album Mi Turno under the Revelde Discos label, followed by El Nivel Sube (2000) and Solo Para Adultos (2001), which spawned the hit single “Lola.” Over the course of the following years, El Chojin would release several more albums such as Cuando Hay Obstáculos (2002) and Jamás Intentes Negarlo (2003), after which he launched a free Internet music distribution platform named Rap Por Placer. Over this time period, he was also involved in the hip-hop collective 995. In 2007, El Chojin released his album Striptease, which became renowned for its musical eclecticism and collaborative nature. In 2008, he obtained the Guinness World Record for fastest MC, rapping 921 syllables in a single minute in the song “Vo-Ca-Li-Za.” He continued to expand his reach beyond music, publishing the book Rap. 25 Años de Rimas with Francisco Reyes, a history of rap music in Spain. He also continued releasing albums such as Energía (2015), Recalculando Ruta (2017), and Y el Último (2019). Classic Shit Series, his fourteenth studio effort, appeared in 2022 and found the Spanish MC reconnecting with his old-school hip-hop roots.
