Dive In

Dive In is an English electro-pop band that embraces upbeat, anthemic choruses and '80s palettes. Formed by area musicians who were playing in other bands but shared an ambition of pop superstardom (and a favorite record, Synchronicity by the Police), Dive In hails from the village of Pilton, Somerset, home of the Glastonbury Festival. With Matthew Guttridge on lead vocals, Daniel Hayes on keyboards, Adam Mason on guitar, and Stephen Evans on drums, the band released two songs in January 2012 and were contacted by major record labels within days. Finding that the labels wanted them to work with a producer to make them more compatible with the contemporary mainstream, the group held out and released the song "Let Go" in 2013. It took off in the blogosphere and on streaming sites, leading to a record deal with Vagrant, which didn't want mess with their sound. Dive In underwent some lineup changes while taking time to work up a live show and prepare their first EP, which was co-produced by the band and Andy Greene (Keane). Being fans of his work with Smashing Pumpkins, they brought in Alan Moulder to mix the five-track Eighteen, which arrived in March of 2016. By the time of its release, Evans had been replaced by Warren Senior, and Matt Mead had joined on bass.
