Billy Morrison

Before earning his first hit as a solo artist with 2024's "Crack Cocaine," Billy Morrison established himself as a guitarist for multiple rock & roll acts, including The Cult, Billy Idol, and the supergroup Camp Freddy. He was born in London, England, on February 9, 1969. After performing in smaller acts during the 1980s and 1990s, he joined The Cult at Billy Duffy's request in 2001, touring as the group's bassist for a year before joining Camp Freddy — a group featuring Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum, Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro, and other veteran rockers — in 2002. He helped launch a similar supergroup, Circus Diablo, in 2006, teaming up with musicians like Fuel's Brett Scallions, Thin Lizzy's Ricky Warwick, and Korn's Rob Patterson. The group reached number 29 on the Active Rock Chart with its 2007 single "Loaded," and Morrison released first solo album, Stimulator, the following year. He began touring with Billy Idol in 2010, sharing guitar duties with Idol's longtime right-hand man, Steve Stevens, and serving as a co-writer on the majority of the songs from Idol's 2014 release, Kings & Queens of the Underground. God Shaped Hole, his second solo album, was released the following year, featuring appearances from Ozzy Osbourne as well as Billy Idol's drummer Erik Eldenius. Although the song "Gods" received moderate airplay on satellite radio, Morrison didn't enjoy a genuine hit on terrestrial radio until the release of 2024's The Morrison Project. The album featured a second collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne, "Crack Cocaine," which reached the Top 20 of Billboard's Mainstream Rock Chart that spring.
