Amaria

Alternative R&B artist Amaria has a modern sound that builds on the mellow yet engrossing aspects of neo-soul, as mastered by the likes of Erykah Badu and Amel Larrieux. The Tampa native made her commercial debut on New Year's Day 2020 with the self-written, self-produced "Morning," a confident first step from the then-teenaged singer. A steady flow of singles and collaborations, along with a 2021 EP entitled Bittersweet, have followed since then. Amaria McGee's first commercial singles were released in 2020 through a partnership with the Fashionably Early label. "Morning," "Waiting," "Twilight," and "Moon," all lucid and fluid slow jams produced by either Amaria or associates such as Chai, K, Le Maestro, and Tee-Watt, were out by the end of that year. Most of the tracks quickly surpassed a million plays. In 2021, Amaria issued the Mick Jenkins collaboration "Got Me Like" and two more similarly successful singles as previews of the Bittersweet EP, released that August. She linked with Destin Conrad for "All for You" in 2022 and returned the next February with "Get Away." By that point, Amaria had made featured appearances on tracks by Flwr Chyld, K, Le Maestro, Darius, and Asha Imuno.
