Neha Bhasin

Originally a member of the short-lived girl group Viva, Neha Bhasin later found success as an award-winning playback singer in the the Bollywood film industry. She was born in Delhi, India, on November 18, 1982, and studied both dance and classical vocal techniques as a child. She joined Viva at 18 years old, appearing on the pop group's 2002 debut, VIVA!, as well as the 2003 follow-up Viva! - Reloaded. When Viva's career stalled in 2004, Neha Bhasin began working as a playback singer, making her Bollywood debut with "Bullet – Ek Dhamaka" — the theme song from the Hindi-language movie of the same name — in 2005. "Pesugiren Pesugire," her song from the 2007 Tamil film Satham Podathey, earned Bhasin her first "Best Playback Singer" award from the Vijay TV Awards. Four years later, she was named "Musical Sensation of the Year" at the 2011 Stardust Awards for her performance of "Dhunki" in the movie Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. As the decade progressed, Bhasin continued to perform songs in Telgu, Tamil, and Hindi films. She reached a new career milestone 2016's "Jag Ghoomeya." As shown in the popular film Sultan, "Jag Ghoomeya" was a commercial and critical success, earning Bhasin awards for "Best Playback Singer" at the Stardust Awards, Filmfare Awards, and ZeeCine Awards. She received the same honor two years later at the 2018 Filmfare Awards, this time for the Punjabi song "Paani Ravi Da." She later kickstarted a new decade with songs like "Kaadal Enthan" and "Catch Me," both of which were released in 2022.
