Idan Morim

A gifted, Israel-born guitarist, Idan Morim is known for his fluid, harmonically nuanced approach to modern creative jazz. He issued his debut album, I.M., in 2019. Born in Tel Aviv, Morim grew up in a creative family and became interested in music at a young age. By the time he was 16, he was already playing professionally as a session guitarist. Following his time at Yigon Alon High School for Arts and Sciences, he joined the IDF army band as a guitarist and arranger. During these years, he performed often, working with many name artists in Israel. He also pursued his music BFA from the Tel Aviv Conservatory and developed a reputation as a distinctive jazz guitarist. After graduating from conservatory and finishing his military service, he moved to New York to attend The New School School of Jazz and Contemporary Music. While there, he received the Provost scholarship for merit and performance and studied under such highly regarded teacher/performers as Adam Rogers, Oz Noy, Reggie Workman, George Cables, and Steve Cardenas. Since moving to New York, he has established himself as a sideman and bandleader, playing an eclectic mix of music from jazz to indie rock. He has worked with artists such as Ronnie Burrage, Anat Cohen, Joe Martin, Tommy Campbell, Fima Ephron, Will Vinson, and Ziv Ravitz, among others. In 2019, he issued his debut album, I.M., featuring trumpeter Adam O'Farrill, keyboardist Micha Gilad, bassist Almog Sharvit, and drummer Colin Stranahan.
