HYUK

A South Korean film star, television actor, and chart-topping K-pop singer, Hyuk was born as Han Sang-hyuk on July 5, 1995. Raised in Daejeon, he studied music at Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts and joined the Korean boy band VIXX in 2012. The group dominated the Gaon charts for years, climbing to Number 1 with 2013's Voodoo, 2015's Chained Up, and 2018's Eau de VIXX. VIXX also scored a dozen Top 10 hits on Billboard's World Digital Songs chart during the 2010s, along with three Top 10 singles in Japan. Hyuk quickly emerged as one of the group's key members, co-writing three songs on Eau de VIXX and one track on 2018's Reincarnation. He earned his own accolades outside the group, too, winning a Jackie Chan Action Movie Award for his starring role in the 2016 film Chasing and appearing in TV programs like The Great Show. While continuing to release music with VIXX in 2019, Hyuk launched a concurrent solo career. "Boy With A Star," his debut single, was released that January, followed by the Winter Butterfly EP in December. The EP peaked at Number 5 on the South Korean album chart. One year later, Hyuk returned to the Korean charts with "Camellia," his collaborative single featuring fellow pop star Jukjae.
