Brackles
Londoner Rob Kemp began DJing at the age of 15. Within a few years, he took to music-making skillfully enough to rank as one of the more creative and individual post-dubstep producers. He debuted as Brackles on the Berkane Sol label in 2008 with “Glazed,” a swarming dubstep track with deep-probing bass frequencies; it was granted the A-side to a split 12” shared with Shortstuff. A handful of releases for Bristol’s Pollen and Apple Pips labels, as well as Planet Mu, Brainmath, and his and Shortstuff’s Blunted Robots imprint, led to the mix album Songs for Endless Cities, Vol. 1, the inaugural release for Cool in the Pool. After a quiet 2011 with only one 12” release on Rinse, Kemp re-emerged in May 2012 with his debut album Rinse Presents: Brackles
