Il y a des disques qui ont véritablement marqué l'interprétation d'une œuvre pour plusieurs générations. Cette Aïda de 1959, somptueusement dirigée par Karajan avec des chanteurs au summum de leur talent, Renata Tebaldi, Giulietta Simionato, Carlo Bergonzi est à connaître de toute urgence et à réécouter sans cesse. Répétons-le, Aïda n'est pas l'opéra pompeux dont certaines pages peuvent se targuer, mais surtout une oeuvre intime du dernier Verdi. FH
