Dopo 4 ½ -- EP del 2016 -- Steven Wilson presenta To the Bone, quinto disco solista e primo di carriera con etichetta Caroline International. Si tratta di un album rock-pop, direttamente ispirato a personaggi che hanno influenzato lo stile musicale dell’artista inglese, come Tears for Fears, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush e Pink Floyd. Gli undici brani proposti affrontano tematiche sociali particolarmente attuali, fra cui il fanatismo religioso, il terrorismo e la vita dei rifugiati. To the Bone accoglie due collaborazioni importanti: quella della cantante israeliana Ninet Tayeb in “Pariah” e della svizzera Sophie Hunger per “Song of I”.
