Con “New” , uscito nell’ottobre 2013, Sir Paul McCartney arriva al suo sedicesimo album di canzoni inedite, a sei anni di distanza da “Memory Almost Full” del 2007. Tra le doti che fanno la grandezza di un artista c’e’ sicuramente l’umilta’, e l’ex Beatle ha il buon senso (contrariamente a molti suoi coetanei di chiara fama) di farsi accompagnare in questa nuova avventura da ben quattro capaci e rinomati produttori, al fine di rinfrescare il sound , e vi riesce in pieno. Collaborano infatti Giles Martin (figlio del celeberrimo George, storico produttore dei Fab4) , Paul Epworth (vincitore di numerosi Grammy Awards e gia’ collaboratore di artisti del calibro di Bruno Mars, Adele, John Legend, solo per citarne alcuni), Mark Ronson (Duran Duran, Amy Winehouse) e Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Tom Jones). 12 brani (15 nella versione deluxe) che ci offrono un “Macca” piu’ brillante e vitale che mai, che conserva le sue sonorita’ e la sua identita’ (il singolo “New” ne e’ un primo assaggio) ma che a settantuno anni suonati sa ancora stupire e rinnovarsi.
