Jubilee Quartet

The Jubilee String Quartet has an international membership and received top-notch training. It is one of Britain's fastest-rising chamber ensembles. The Jubilee String Quartet, which has also used the name Jubilee Quartet, was formed in 2006 in London at the Royal Academy of Music, where all four members had come to study. The quartet includes first violinist Teresa Privatska, second violinist Julia Loucks, violist Lorena Cantó Woltèche, and cellist Toby White. The group studied with Günter Pichler at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia in Madrid, with Rainer Schmidt at the Musik-Akademie Basel in Switzerland, and with John Myerscough at the ChamberStudio in London. They also participated in master classes with the Skampa, Wihan, and Chilingirian Quartets. The Jubilee String Quartet won significant prizes in the first half of the 2010s, including first prizes at the Val Tidone International Chamber Music Competition in 2010 and the St. Martin's Chamber Music Competition in 2013. The group held fellowships at the Royal Academy of Music and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, among other institutions. In 2019, the quartet made its debut on the Rubicon Classics label with an album of Haydn quartets. The Jubilee String Quartet has performed around Britain and in several continental European countries. It has appeared at such prestigious English venues as Wigmore Hall, Conway Hall, and the Purcell Room. In 2020, the group moved online for its Jubilee String Quartet Academy streamed concerts, heard globally. It has also been heard on the BBC Radio 3 network's In Tune program. The Jubilee String Quartet has been involved in such outreach programs as Britain's Live Music Now! scheme and has worked with young chamber music players at the Purcell School in Bushey. The group returned on Rubicon Classics in 2022 with an album of quartets by Schubert.
