Abby Sage

The contemplative indie rock of Abby Sage dwells in shadowy interiors muted by the cool end of the color spectrum. After releasing a pair of well-received EPs, Fears of Yours & Mine and The Florist in the early 2020s, she delivered her full-length debut in 2024. Born in Toronto and raised both there and near San Francisco, Abby Sage grew up watching her father perform at area music venues. He taught her to play guitar. Encouraged by the positive reaction to a live recording of her own song that she uploaded as a teen, she went on to pursue a music career in Los Angeles. Sage released her first studio recordings in 2021, culminating in the EP Fears of Yours & Mine that November. By then in her early twenties, it followed the stages of an ill-fated relationship. She followed it up in October 2022 with another EP, The Florist. One of the songs on that EP, "Backwards Directions," spawned an alternate version featuring Porches in mid-2023. Later that year, she previewed her 2024 debut album with singles such as "Milk" and "Obstruction."
