En esta hermosa grabación para el sello Decca editada originalmente en 2004, la soprano norteamericana Renée Fleming ofrece un recital de arias de Georg Friedrich Händel (1685-1759). Desde la voluptuosa "Oh sleep, why dost thou leave me" hasta la opulenta "Calm thou my soul", la cálida voz de Fleming se ajusta maravillosamente a la música del célebre compositor alemán. Fleming además otorga a cada aria y cada personaje su propia identidad emocional y musical, haciéndole vivir al oyente el éxtasis de Sémele, la añoranza de Rodelinda o el dolor de Agrippina. La cantante es acompañada estupendamente por la Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, dirigida por Harry Bickert.
