En 1973, solamente un año después de la aparición del primer Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry lanzó su primer álbum en solitario. Una esquizofrenia que permitió al dandy británico satisfacer su pasión por la interpretación pura y dura. En These Foolish Things (1973), el líder de Roxy versionea a Dylan, los Beatles, los Stones, los Beach Boys, los Four Tops y Elvis, mientras que en Another Time, Another Place (1974), vuelve a visitar a Dylan, pero también a Sam Cooke, Ike Turner, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Joe South y algunas pepitas de oro de grupos de chicas de los 60. Este álbum en vivo hasta ahora inédito, grabado en diciembre de 1974 en el Royal Albert Hall de Londres, se basa esencialmente en estos dos discos solistas. La ironía, el desfase y la exuberancia de la filosofía del glam explotan en cada segundo de un grandioso y grandilocuente concierto en el que participan tres miembros de Roxy Music: el guitarrista Phil Manzanera, el baterista Paul Thompson y el bajista John Porter.
