El grupo Pulp nació en los 80 en Sheffield, Inglaterra, pero no empezó a despuntar hasta mediados de los 90, cuando se convirtió en uno de los grupos preeminentes del boom del brit-pop. Esta recopilación recoge los mejores sencillos del grupo desde los 90 hasta principios del siglo XXI, cuando el grupo se separó. Liderado por el carismático y atrevido Jarvis Cocker, Pulp se forjó un nombre con su pop con elementos tecno (como se puede oír en el himno a la clase media "Common People" y la potente "Disco 2000"), pero también le echó el ojo al feroz glam rock ("Party Hard") y el pop de cámara elegante ("The Trees"). Cocker infundió en las canciones con guitarra y piano del sexteto una estética curiosa y culta que se ha convertido en su legado. En general, Hits constituye una muestra concisa del repertorio de grupo que funciona muy bien como introducción a esta banda indudablemente británica.
