Velous
American rapper, songwriter, singer, and record producer Velous carved his way into the industry though a number of high-profile collaborations in the late 2010s. He was born Tyler Bryant in Kingston, New York to a musical family -- his father was a musician and his mother a singer -- and his own forays into music began at an early age. At just nine years old Bryant decided he wanted to be a producer after hearing "There She Goes" by Babyface and featuring Pharrell Williams, and by the age of 11 he'd started rapping. He began his music career proper working at a studio in New Jersey, and then self-released Velocity the Mixtape in 2011. The record was made up of original tracks, and he produced, wrote, and performed all the material himself. His big break came in 2014 when French Montana signed him to Coke Boys Records. 2015 proved to be a banner year for the emerging artist, as he co-produced Drake's song "Right Hand," and contributed to Kanye West's "All Day," which was also nominated for Best Rap Song at the 2016 edition of the Grammys.
