Suyoen Kim

Suyoen Kim is a classical violinist of Korean heritage who was born in Germany and studied there from the age of five, later earning a masters degree from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. She studied further at the Kronberg Academy, led masterclasses and was invited by Seiji Ozawa to participate in the International Music Academy Switzerland in 2005 and 2006. Solo appearances have been with conductors such as Kurt Masur, Eliahu Inbal, Myung-Whun Chung, Steven Sloane, Jan Latham-Koenig, Peter Ruzicka and Walter Weller and she has performed with orchestras in Russia, Sweden, Denmark and South Korea. Her recordings include 'Suyoen Kim Performs Mozart & Hartmann' (2005), 'Joachim: Violin Concerto in the Hungarian Style, Op. 11/Violin Concerto in G minor, Op. 3' (2009), 'Schubert for Two' (2015) with pianist Dong Hyek Lim and 'Beethoven Violin Concerto/2 Romances' (2016) with Württemberg Chamber Orchestra conducted by Ruben Gazarian. Her 2018 schedule included a performance in April with the Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Narah Chung playing Shostakovichs 'Festive Overture, Op.96', Bruch's 'Violin Concerto No.1 in G-minor, Op.26' and Prokofiev's 'Symphony No.4 in B-Major, Op.100' at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall.
