Kidnap (Original Soundtrack)

The artist formerly known as Kidnap Kid, currently known as Kidnap – aka UK electronic producer Matthew 'Matt' Rupert Lancaster Relton – was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England on February 22, 1991 and unleashed his first EP, The Great Confusion, via Squelch and Clap in 2011. The following year, he released the breakthrough single "Vehl," picking up the award for iTunes Best Electronic Track in 2012 and making a name for himself as a fine purveyor of smart electronica. He continued to put out a string of singles for London's Black Butter Records, namely 2013's "So Close" and "Survive" and 2014's "Stronger" and "Like You Used To," christening his own Birds That Fly imprint in 2016 with the "Moments / Birds That Fly" EP featuring Leo Stannard. In 2017, he swapped his name from Kidnap Kid to Kidnap and released "Aba" with Lane 8 via Anjunadeep – for which he received a Record of the Year nomination at the 2017 Electronic Music Awards, performing at the Electronic Music Awards show that year – also releasing "Where The Sea Swings Like An Iron Gate" via Anjunadeep in 2017. The following year saw the release of "Ashes," with 2019 ushering in the arrival of his debut album, Grow, on Armada Music. The single "Matcha Mistake" came in 2020 on the This Never Happened label and Kidnap released his "Cold Water" single with LYDY MAY in 2021.
