Jeremy & The Harlequins
Infused with the classic sounds and ineffable cool of classic '50s and '60s rock & roll, Jeremy & the Harlequins are a five-piece band hailing from New York City. Their song "Trip into the Light" from their 2015 debut, American Dreamer, was lauded by Steven Van Zandt and licensed for the Tom Cruise action flick Edge of Tomorrow.
The band was formed by lead vocalist Jeremy Fury (born Jeremy Lublin) and guitarist Craig Bonich, two friends with similar musical viewpoints who had played in a short-lived band called the Romans. Fury and Bonich wanted to form a group that would have a strong and anthemic sound, as well as memorable songs. Jeremy and his brother, drummer Stevie Fury, had played music together for years (they cut an album in 2006 as members of the group We Are the Fury), and when Stevie returned from a sojourn in Europe, he soon teamed up with Jeremy and Craig. Jeremy had a backlog of songs, and after guitarist Patrick Meyer and bassist Bobby Ever joined the new group, they wasted no time getting to work.
Within weeks of the band settling on their lineup, they began recording an album in the summer of 2013, and it finally reached the public in 2015 under the title American Dreamer. Upon its release, Steven Van Zandt began playing their tune "Trip into the Light" on his syndicated radio show, Little Steven's Underground Garage, and the musician and DJ honored it with his weekly accolade of the Coolest Song in the World. The song also appeared on the soundtrack of the film Edge of Tomorrow, and the subsequent media coverage helped bring Jeremy & the Harlequins to the attention of Yep Roc Records.
Yep Roc struck a deal with the band, and in August 2016 the label issued their self-produced second album, Into the Night. With production by Rick Parker (Scott Weiland & the Wildabouts, Miranda Lee Richards), Remember This followed in 2018 and landed in the Top Ten of the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart.
