En 2022, au terme d'une longue pause, Ian Anderson réactivait son véhicule Jethro Tull pour l'abum The Zealot Gene. Dès lors, il n'aura fallu attendre que quinze mois pour voir le projet britannique revenir avec RökFlöte, son vingt-troisième opus studio en date, intervalle entre deux albums le plus court depuis celui entre Stormwatch (1979) et A (1980). Axé autour de la mythologie nordique, l'album propose un recueil de douze nouvelles compositions d'une durée relativement réduite mêlant une nouvelle fois éléments rock et folk selon une approche progressive dont la flûte d'Anderson reste le fil conducteur majeur. Porté par les singles "Ginnungagap", "The Navigators" et "Hammer on Hammer", RökFlöte vient amender une déjà foisonnante discographie et se hisse dans de nombreux charts internationaux.
