Le compositeur et chef d'orchestre Bob Chilcott (né en 1955) a été initié à la musique chorale anglaise dès le plus jeune âge, alors membre d'une maîtrise. Membre fondateur des King's Singers, il est à présent l'un des compositeurs les plus prolifiques dans le champ de la musique chorale, capable de créer des mélodies séduisantes et mémorables qui rappellent le meilleur de John Rutter. Son Requiem (2010) est caractérisé par une atmosphère clémente clairement inspirée du Requiem de Fauré, avec un Pie Jesu cristallin confié à la soprano (Laurie Ashworth). Cet album interprété par le Wells Cathedral Choir est entièrement constitué d'enregistrements en première mondiale.
