The Kenny Smith Project

Kenny Smith is a praise & worship leader based in Columbia, South Carolina who started his recording career in the 2010s. A son of a pastor and a music teacher, Smith learned music at an early age, picking up piano when he was four. When he was 11, he started playing at churches, becoming a minister of music at the age of 15. His professional musical career started through work as a songwriter, but he began performing solo when he was nine. He released his first EP, Perfect Place, in 2010. This was quickly followed by the full-length album Songs of the Heart in 2011. Four years later came a second album, My Life, His Lyrics. Following its release, he was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer, a disease that went into remission by the time he recorded 2017's Transformation, an album filled with songs about his illness and the power of faith.
