Stéfania

Pop vocalist Stefania Liberakakis was born to a Greek family on December 17, 2002, in Utrecht, the Netherlands. After competing in the Dutch television contest The Voice Kids as a 10 year old, she joined the children's choir Kinderen voor Kinderen and appeared on two of the group's albums, one of which — 2015's Raar maar waar — charted at Number 1 in the Netherlands. As a member of the short-lived girl group Kisses, she represented her country in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the single "Kisses and Dancin'." She then released her first single as a solo artist, "Stupid Reasons," in 2018, dropping her surname and operating simply as Stefania. More singles followed, as well as appearances in the TV show Brugklas and its Golden Film Award-winning spinoff, Brugklas: De tijd van m'n leven. Although Stefania was chosen by Greece to represent the country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with her single "Supergirl," the Covid-19 global pandemic resulted in Eurovision's cancellation. Even so, "Supergirl" became her first genuine hit song, peaking at Number 19 in Greece and earning Stefania an offer to participate in the following year's Eurovision Song Contest. Her submission for the contest's 2021 installment was "Last Dance," an electro-pop song that finished in tenth place and helped introduce Stefania's music to a global audience. Released in March, "Last Dance" peaked at Number 30 in Belgium, Number 24 in Greece, Number 36 in Iceland, and Number 35 in Lithuania.
