Shan'L

Gabonese singer Shan'L, whose real name is Channelle Lekogo, was born in Libreville on February 6, 1989. Her passion for singing led her to join her high school choir, where she remained a staple until the end of her studies. She then decided to take part in the Miss Gabon beauty contest, where she reached the final and sang a song for one of the members of the jury. This performance was noticed by a producer who signed her to the Direct Prod label. In 2013, she emerged with the zouk track "L'aveu", recorded as a duet with Gabonese singer Arielle T. 2015 marked a turning point for the young woman, as she won the Airtel Trace Music Star music competition in Gabon and was one of 13 national finalists competing in the pan-African final under the patronage of American singer Akon. Just a few months later, her debut album Shal'L Is My Name was released, featuring tracks such as "Camisolé", "Où est le gars?" and "Je me bats pour réussir". But it was really with the track "Tchizambengue" that Shan'L exploded in 2018, before following it up with tracks such as "Serré Serré" and "Poupish ". She was a finalist in the Prix Découvertes RFI pan-African competition in 2020, and shortly afterwards released the 24-track album Eklektik 2.0 , featuring tracks such as "Yayayobé", "Okoké" and "Où est le mariage?" in collaboration with Congolese singer Fally Ipupa.
