Piero Mazzocchetti

Piero Mazzocchetti was born in Pescara, Italy, during March of 1978. He began seriously studying music early, starting with piano at the Conservatory of Pescara at age six. In his early teens, Piero took an interest in song, studying voice at the conservatory with master Mariateresa Giammarino (who had previously instructed prodigious talents such as Luciano Pavarotti). Mazzocchetti began playing in piano bars at the age of 16, impressing local audiences with his mastery of both piano and voice. The young artist's career turned a corner a short time later when he was offered a contract to play in a piano bar in Monaco de Baviera, Germany. Mazzocchetti was received enthusiastically by his new German audience, becoming something of a local sensation. A record contract with Universal was soon to follow, producing Mazzocchetti's debut record, L'Eternita. His piano bar days behind him, Mazzocchetti set off on a national tour, playing arenas and theaters throughout Germany. A second release with Universal entitled Parole Nuove expanded the young singer's fan base into Austria and Switzerland, and his third record was followed by a series of stadium performances before audiences of 40,000 to 60,000 fans. The artist's international exposure rose to a new level in 2006, as Mazzocchetti performed all over the Americas, Europe, and North Africa. Important television appearances alongside genre legends such as Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Whitney Houston, José Carreras, and Phil Collins marked his entrance into a new class of entertainer. A 2007 performance at the Sanremo Festival, where he took third place, was yet another feather in Mazzocchetti's cap as his impressive career continued its upward trajectory.
