Michael Atherton
A classically-trained professor of music at the University of Western Sydney, Michael Atherton is best known for his heavily-textural compositions. While his debut album, "Windshift", released in 1994 featured the atmospheric sounds of his pan pipes and pan flute, his most ambitious undertaking was an extended piece based on the ancient music of Egypt that he composed for a National Museum exhbition in 1998.
