LOURDES
Though Lourdes Fernandez (born April 2, 1982) grew up playing keyboards and guitar as well as singing, it was her voice that first brought her attention in her native Argentina. In 2001 she was one of five girls chosen to make up the group Bandana, chosen in an American Idol-like manner on the program Popstars. The quintet stayed together for three years, releasing two best-selling albums (Bandana and Noche) before finally breaking up in 2004. It didn't take long, however, for Lourdes, who had been affectionately known as the "short one" in Bandana, to set to work on her solo material. That same year her debut, the electronic-driven pop of Televisivamente, came out, followed in 2007 by De Otro Mundo.
