Carrying the torch left by departed West Coast rappers such as 2Pac, Bay Area emcee The Jacka honed his skills as a contributor on the Mob Figaz self-titled album and over 100 other albums in a span of just eight years. After two self-produced, self-distributed albums and a well-received mixtape, the rapper released his highly anticipated third solo album, TEAR GAS, in 2009.
