Blessed Initiative

Blessed Initiative is the name of an experimental noise project helmed by Berlin-based producer Yair Elazar Glotman. He discovered music at a very early age, having found his parents' copy of the Doors' L.A. Woman, which gave way to repeated listens. As he grew, he began to take a heavier interest in music and started trying out different instruments, taking principal interest in classical guitar and contrabass. During studies he explored many different angles of creating music and performance, from playing bass in various bands to participating in orchestras, before finally moving into the world of electronic music. By the time of his early to mid-twenties, Glotman began collaborating with others and releasing various pieces of work, namely via the post-techno project KETEV and a number of albums under his given name. He worked with Subtext Recordings founder and DJ James Ginzburg for the 2014 release Nimbes and subsequently put out Études in 2015. In 2016 he created the Blessed Initiative project, which focused on the nature of sound and dissonance. Glotman released the project's highly anticipated eponymous effort in late 2016. The record was created with the KYMA sound design workstation with collected Foley recordings. The album received widespread acclaim for its sparse texture, eerie ambience, and varied use of reverb.
