Aut'Chose

Rock band formed in Montreal in 1974, featuring Lucien Francoeur (vocals), Mick Gauthier (bass), Pierre-André Gauthier (guitar), Jacques Lalumière (drums) and Jacques Racine (guitar). Their first single "Ch't'aime pis ch't'en veux / Hey you woman " in 1974 became an instant hit. Their debut album Prends une Chance Avec Moé was released on February 14, 1975, and was followed a few months later, in October 1975, by their second album Une Nuit Comme une Autre , including the hit "Nancy Beaudoin " . This coincided with the departure of Pierre-André Gauthier, one of the group's founding members. A year later, in October 1976, the album Le Cauchemar Américain was released. The group disbanded in 1977 due to musical differences. In 2004, Lucien Francoeur reformed Aut'Chose with members of Voïvod, Groovy Aardvark and Grimskink, joining forces with original band member Jacques Racine. A show at Montreal's Café Campus on April 7, 2005 brings the band back to life. A few weeks later, they released the album Chansons d'Épouvante , nominated for Rock Album of the Year at the ADISQ in 2006. In 2014, 40 years after the band's first LP, the complete reissue of the band's recordings is offered in a boxed set of 4 CDs and 1 DVD entitled: Chaud Comme un Jukebox.
