Born in British Hong Kong on September 3, 1991, Terence Lam is a Cantopop vocalist best known for Number 1 singles like "一人之境," "神奇的糊塗魔藥," and "難道喜歡處女座." He began playing piano at four years old and purchased his first mixing console as a teenager, using the equipment to record his own performances and release them online. Mentored by Chet Lam, he began working as a songwriter in 2014, co-writing hits like Pakho Chau's "About Us," JW's "A Lifetime of Contradictions," and Yoga Lin's "Do Not Forget You." Lam's success as a songwriter encouraged him to launch a career as a solo artist. "下一位前度," also known as "Next," was released in January 2019 and became a Top 40 hit on Hong Kong's Top 30 Singles chart. Lam climbed to Number 1 for the first time of his career that same year with "一人之境" (also known as "Solitude"), and he released his debut EP, Major in Minor, in May 2020. Meanwhile, he earned consecutive Number 1 hits "時光倒流一句話," "拋物線 (音樂永續作品)," "神奇的糊塗魔藥," and "難道喜歡處女座," all of which topped either the Top 50 Cantonese Singles chart or the Top 50 Mandarin Singles chart throughout 2021 and 2021. Seven, his second album, was released in 2021, and Terence Lam's commercial success carried him into the early months of 2022, where "某種老朋友" and "doodoodoo" both became Top 10 hits on the Cantonese charts.
