Il pubblico non ha ancora digerito il loro sconvolgente primo album che i Doors legano, nella stessa annata del 1967, a questi Strange Days. Strani come queste composizioni che forse non assomigliano a quelle di nessun altro gruppo. Delle tematiche vacillanti e spesso abbastanza oniriche. Insomma, se Jim Morrison canta che le persone sono strane (People Are Strange), potremmo dire la stessa cosa dei Doors… Cambi incessanti di ritmi, prosa alternata tra critica sociale e delirio puro e grandi divari tra totale trance e ballata di cabaret: tutto ciò sa di circo e atteggiamento da saltimbanco. Un po’ sulla falsariga della copertina dell’album. Come un cabaret indistinto diretto da un Morrison più vissuto che mai (il suo monologo in Horse Latitudes) e che resta la ciliegina su questa affascinante torta poetica e psichedelica… Per i 50 anni dell’album, questa edizione propone due versioni rimasterizzate: in stereo e in mono. © MZ/Qobuz
